A Sorta Smokey Eye: FOTD

First off, Hello 60 Followers ^_^  (faints)

I have said it once before and I will say it again, I am NO MAKE UP EXPERT, I may have done this totally wrong, not blended enough, not done this, not done that, but who cares, I liked it! (totally bias :p)
I have not had much luck with smokey eye's in the past but I felt like messing around and that's exactly what I did! hehe :)

You girls know by now that I LOVE me some browns, bronze's and golds, so I decided to use grey, silver and black. Totally out of my comfort zone btw!
I don't own much grey/silver eyeshadow's so I used a smokey eye palette from a old MAC holiday collection... Used all 3 "smokey" colours!

Products Used:
FACE
Revlon ColorStay Foundation (Natural Tan)
MAC Face and Body Foundation (C4)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer (NW30)
Rimmel Stay Mattle Powder (transparent)

CHEEKS:
MAC Tippy Blush (LE from Hello Kitty collection)

EYES:
MAC Fluidline Blacktrack (all over lid)
MAC Carbon Eyeshadow (in crease)
A light silver and sparkly grey eyeshadow from a MAC holiday collection eye palette
MAC Espresso eyeshadow (brows)
False Lashes
Maybelline Falsies Mascara
Rimmel Eye Kohl (black)

LIPS:
MAC Creme Cup Lipstick
Gloss (sorry, can't remember what I used) (face palm!)

And there you have it, not much of a accurate product list (as I can not remember everything) but I tried!
I liked the way it turned out, sure it's abit dark but its a nice change... I think so atleast :)

So, How Did I DO on my Sorta Smokey Eye?
(honesty expected!!)

PS... THANK YOU for all the lovely comments I received on my In A Slump post.
You all are such sweethearts, and I really appreciate it!!

see, I'm happy :)

Part 2: FOTD... I love Neutrals

See Part 1 below...

I put in more effort than I usually do with my make up, because I missed just sitting at my dressing table and playing with my beauty items.
That's the fun about make up... It's not permanent, mistakes can be wiped away and you can go crazy with it!
I did not go crazy though :)

If you read Part 1, you know will know that I love browns. Most of the eyeshadow's I own are some form of brown.
I used my go to shadows on my eye lids... MAC Soba (a light brown with tiny gold flecks), MAC Woodwinked (a shimmery bronze) and MAC Espresso (a dark brown).

this was taken by the front door, natural lighting

i hate how white my face looks compared to my neck... Damn flash!

Fooling around in my nerd glasses :)

Doin' it with Flare

(my blog post title's are so cheesy :)

I have had these flare light wash jeans for about 2 years and I still love them!
They are Sissy Boy jeans, they were a bit pricey but are really quality jeans, which is why it's still looking good.
I am on the look out for dark wash flare jeans... Finding the perfect jeans is tough! I'm sure most of you can relate?!

On to the outfit...

The sheer beige top is the one I am wearing in my Do you like my headband post.
I tucked it into my jeans and wore it with a men's woven belt and wedges.
I'm also using my brown Mulberry inspired satchel that my Mom bought me in Hong Kong.

What do you think of flare jeans? Love it or hate it?
I love them!

Apologies for the lack of posts, time has not been on my blogging side... BUT, I will try my best to blog regularly again!

Skin Problems

I need your help!!!
Lately, my skin has been acting crazy!
Let me start off, I have normal to dry skin with a few spots around that time of the month.
I need to buy new skincare products... But, want to finish up what I already have.
In the mean time, I would like to do a DIY face mask!

I have been reading online about home made face masks and I wanted to know which you girls have tried and recommend?

images from Google. Edited by me
I personally love using fresh lemon juice on my face and also the disprin/aspirin (whichever you call it in your country) mask!

I have read a lot of good things about Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the beauty blogging community... Many use it as a make up remover and some also use it to moisturize their face!

I found a recipe online to combine lemon juice and the disprin/aspirin, called the Dr Oz Aspirin & Lemon Juice Skin Home Rememdy! (found here: dr-oz-aspirin-lemon-juice-flawless-skin-home-remedy)

How to Make Dr Oz’s Aspirin & Lemon Juice Skin Home Remedy
Ingredients:
non-coated aspirin
lemon juice
baking soda

Instructions:
Doctor Oz said that this Flawless Skin Home Remedy is a great way to clear your complexion. The aspirin has salicylic acid which helps to remove acne and pimples since it is like a chemical peel. The lemon juice has vitamin C and helps minimize sun damage to your skin. Baking soda works great at the end to neutralize the salicylic acid.

1. Mash up 6-12 non-coated aspirins and combine with freshly squeeze lemon juice.
2. Let the aspirin dissolve until it turns into a paste.
3. Apply the mask to your skin and leave it on for 10 minutes.
4. Remove the face mask by dipping a cotton round in some baking soda and some water.

I'm definitely going to try this one on the weekend... I have used the lemon juice and the disprin/aspirin separately, so I am excited to try it together!

If you have tried the Dr Oz Aspirin and Lemon juice rememdy, have recommendations, tried any amazing DIY face masks or know any skincare secrets...
Please share with me! ♥
