How time flies

I do apologise for the lack of updates. With Hubby sick, my sister's wedding this weekend, I hardly have time to think, let alone blog.
This week has been CRAZY so you might only hear from me again next week.
I have SO much still to do and tomorrow is my only day to finish up whatever I haven't done.

I promise next week, you'll see tons of photo's! Update on me: I've dyed my hair darker and I've bought lots of new clothes. Can't wait to show you!

So expect outfit posts, pictures from my Sister's wedding and a turban tutorial.

Sneak peak of the tutorial. I will show you to tie it full across your head (as above) and also how to make a turban headband (as seen in my So Blue  post)

Off I go... Have had events every night and tonight is another.
Wish me luck!

Cleo Droomer Collection for Mr Price

all images from Mr Price and In The Fashion Loop

I am in awe of the beautiful pieces created by the talented Cleo Droomer winner of the 2010 ELLE New Talent competition.
Every piece is stunning, fun, so cool and the sorbet colours are lovely. I mean, how adorable are those wide leg pants?? And that grey colour block dress??? Amazing!

I for one am IN LOVE with the maxi skirt (pictured above) and I can't wait to get my hands on it. The collection is available from selected stores today.

I will be running to stores!  Best you do the same!

Crazy, busy, LOVE

My husband has been ill (it's quite serious) since last week Friday and I'm having a bit of a rough time dealing with it. I've been an emotional wreck!
It's tough thinking that you could lose someone who means the world to you.
He is on the road to recovery so all I can do is pray and be patient.

This upcoming weekend promises to be a crazy one, it's the last weekend before my sister gets married. We'll having the Mendhi evening and the bridal shower. So as you can imagine, I'm going to be very busy!
If you're wondering about my dress... Keep on wondering because I certainly am! Would you believe me if I told you that I still don't have it??? My dressmaker is amazing at what she does but is seriously the most unreliable person in the world. Honestly I feel like strangling her...
BUT, all good things come to those who wait, right! Even if I've been waiting for longer than a month!
*insert big sigh here*

I will try my best to blog this week!
love
ps... I'm on 243 blog followers, that pretty AMAZING!
Thank you all ♥

Purple Spots

tank top - jay jays | skirt - mr price | leather jacket - vertigo | clutch - boutique | lipstick - mac pink nouveau

As I mentioned before in my post below, I'm trying to embrace colour. And what better way to do it than to pair a purple tank top with a turquoise sling bag. It seemed fitting for the dullness of my skirt. I also decided to go with a bright pink lip, MAC Pink Nouveau just screamed for me to use it.
The weather at the moment is definitely not Spring... It's cold and it's raining. As much as I look forward to Spring, it seems coats and boots are back in.

If I'm a bit quiet this week, it's due to the fact that my sister's wedding is drawing closer. I have quite a few things to do, so this weekend is pretty much my last as next weekend is the mendhi evening and bridal shower.

Also if you're wondering about my dress... NO, I don't have it!
I had a fitting with my dressmaker this past Saturday but she cancelled. I will try to see her on the weekend. Panic has slowly started to set in!

B R E A T H E .
It's going to be fine.

What's what I've been telling myself. I'm known for not getting stressed out and taking a laid back approach. SO, hopefully everything works out the way it's meant to!

Love,

Red Skinny

red skinny - jay jays | stripe top - jay jays | wedges - woolworths | sling - boutique

One thing I have wanted for the longest time was a pair of bright colour skinny jeans... Especially drooling how amazing you girls have been rocking them in the Summer, I knew I had to get a pair or two. I managed to find this red pair and what I love about it is it's so light weight. Almost not like jeans at all!
I also got a pink one. Problem is, it's kind of a bubblegum pink and I do feel kind of silly in them... My mom laughed at me when I tried them on. They are cute though and I definitely want to make them work. Other colours I want to get are green and cobalt blue. I've seen some lovely one's at Woolworths, if any of you SA girls are looking.

As you can see in this post and my post before this, colour is going to be big for me this Summer.
As much as I still (and will always) love neutrals, I'm going to take a big step outside my comfort zone and jump in the bright side!

I'm off to catch up on blogs and relax... Feeling a bit sick. Maybe it's Sunday night blues?
Have a lovely week!

So Blue

blouse - mr price | flare jeans - sissy boy | scarf & clutch - boutique | red bow wedges - woolworths

Truth be told, I've never liked blue... But when thinking of this polka dot blouse, accessoring with blue came to mind. Oh and red. These wedges are old, have had them for years but they still look just as cute as the day I bought them.

I bought 2 new scarves (one grey, one blue) on the weekend, I was drawn to them by the cool tribal print. I probably spent an hour trying to tie it into a turban. Don't get me wrong, I know how, I'm actually quite a pro, if I do say so myself, but this scarf is tiny! Which means I can't tie it at the back of my head. Instead I improvised and tucked the ends in on the side... All day I worried it would fall off (I wore this to work yesterday) but surprisingly, it didn't! See, told you I'm a pro! :P
I'm so obsessed with turbans. One night in the fast I spent over an hour tying all my scarves into turbans... They are my new fave accessories! So you will definitely be seeing more of them!

hope you're having a lovely week!

Urban Girl

tee - kumaro | military skinny - mr p | boots - aldo | sling bag - market | ray ban aviators

The weather is getting warmer and I love it! As much as I'm not a fan of Summer, Spring is definitely lovely and I look forward to it! This was my casual outfit for Saturday shopping... I had a cardigan on but as the day went on, the weather got warmer and I could lose the cardi.

This month is going to get crazy with my Sister's wedding being around the corner. I wish I had my dress already... The dressmaker has just only started (I hope she started!) and I am already having a panic attack because I can't remember the exact colour  and I'm now second guessing myself with the colour choice! I also want to buy my accessories... I have seen a gorgeous beaded clutch from Forever New  that I want but I first want my dress to be finished.

What do you think about the clutch? Pretty right?!

Thank you for all the sweet comments on my Beautiful Eid ul Fitr post... Heart you all!

Beautiful Eid-ul-Fitr

Wednesday the 31st of August 2011 we, here in South Africa, celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr as opposed to other countries who celebrated Eid on Tuesday. I think us in Cape Town were actually lucky because it turned out to be such a beautiful day. It rained all night before (I know because I stayed up all night watching Pretty Little Liars) but the sun came out and it was really a stunning day!
I enjoyed my day with family and trying not to over eat... Which is typical Eid behaviour, for me anyway. I'm such an over eater!

pleated skirt - lollyloves | cardigan & blouse - boutique | nude heels - aldo | satchel - gifted | bracelet & ring - sass diva

I think I was definitely more excited to wear my gorgeous pleated skirt than anything else. Feels like forever when I received it in the post! I went for a romantic look with the blush and neutral tones. I am so in love with the colour of the skirt and the pretty pleats. The only downfall is the length... It's way too long for my short legs! I wore my highest heels and still had some near nose breaking experiences! I can't wait to wear it again though and have already thought of outfits in my head.

This past month has been wonderful but I have really missed blogging and all my lovely readers! The break was needed but now I feel that I'm ready to start blogging again... I want to try to blog regularly and with the start of Spring I already feel inspired and excited for the warmer months.  Even though it's currently pouring with rain and really cold... Thinking of warmer weather nonetheless!
 Until next time my loves...
